The given system of linear equations is
\[2x+7y=3\] ---- Equation \[1\]
\[x=1-4y\] ----- Equation \[2\]
Now, putting the value of x from equation \[2\] and putting it in equation \[1\] , we get,

& 2\left( 1-4y \right)+7y=3 \\
& \Rightarrow 2-8y+7y=3 \\
& \Rightarrow 2-y=3 \\
& \Rightarrow 2-3=y \\
& \Rightarrow y=-1 \\
