Habitat degradation, exploitation, and pollution are the biggest threats to the diversity of the world. Most human beings for their own profit, overexploit the different types of fish species, plants, and other organisms. Many factories and industrial plants on the bank of the sea dispose of their waste directly into seawater causing the destruction of many coral habitats and pollute water and damage the ecosystem along with damaging the terrestrial ecosystems by releasing harmful gases and industrial wastes resulting in the extinction of species.
The most common threat to biodiversity on the earth, is the combination of human increase and resource exploitation. The human population requires resources for their survival and to grow, and people's resources are being removed unsustainably from the environment. The proximate threats which were faced by biodiversity are habitat loss, overharvesting, and the introduction of exotic species. The primary two of those are immediate results of human increase and resource use. Due to an increase in trade and mobility, it will lead to a third result. A fourth major explanation for extinction, anthropogenic global climate change, has not yet had an outsized impact, but it's predicted to become significant during this century. Global climate change is additionally a consequence of the human population's need for energy and therefore the use of fossil fuels to satisfy those needs. Environmental issues, for example, toxic pollution, have specifically targeted effects on species, but they're not generally seen as threats at the magnitude of the others.
